Spiced Almonds

It’s that time of year again. Football season. I’m not a big fan of the sport, but I do like the food that generally shows up around game time. Here is one snack you can prepare ahead for game day and not feel guilty about indulging later.

Ingredients

2 cups raw almonds

3 teaspoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

½ teaspoon ancho chili powder

½ teaspoon cinnamon

½ teaspoon salt

Directions

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

Mix all ingredients in a bowl until the almonds are well-coated. Spread the almonds in a single layer on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Bake for about 7-10 minutes until the spices are fragrant and the almonds are warmed through. Turn the almonds about halfway through. Do not overbake or the almonds will

burn quickly near the end.

Allow the almonds to cool on the baking sheet.
