Yesterday I went to the store for stuff to make broth. When I got there, I realized how late it was getting and how much I still needed to get done. I made the executive decision to buy some broth to go with the Kettle and Fire broth that arrived on Saturday and do a bit of a taste test this week.
This week is a busy one at work. I can't afford to get sick, and I've been sick a lot lately, so I need the protective aspects of broth to give me a boost this week. With no time to make it myself, this is a good week to try a few options on the market to see how they taste.
Personally, I would love to find a few brands that I could keep on the shelf or in the freezer for weeks like these. I'm lucky that I tend to know when my job will get hectic so I often can plan a bit for it. Usually, I make broth on the weekends, but sometimes I just don't have the time or energy and need a shortcut. Don't we all?
Example: A few weeks ago, I was super sick with a nasty sinus infection and could barely stand up straight or speak in coherent sentences. I literally started to cry in the middle of the produce section trying to remember what I had at home to make broth and what I didn't. It would have been nice to have some broth in my freezer or on my shelf to pull out instead of trying to muddle my way through making it myself. Somehow I managed, but it wasn't pretty.
Not shown in this picture is the Bare Bones Broth I ordered today. It should come later this week. I'll grab a few shots of it once it arrives and update the blog.
Stay tuned for more updates on my broth adventures. I'm keeping a list of each one, where I bought them, cost, details, etc. I've created a Product category for product reviews and the like and using tags so you can search my posts on the topic.
Are there any brands I missed? Any you think I should add to my list? Let me know in the comments below or send me a message through my About Me page.
