Preparing for the Detox

I've done it. I've signed up with the group beginning The 21-Day Sugar Detox on March 3. If you plan to join me, consider signing up for the daily emails. I just believe in the power of food to heal and find the books, Practical Paleo and The 21-Day Sugar Detox to be a wealth of information.

Planning Ahead is Key

The key to success during the detox is planning. So what am I doing this weekend to plan for the detox coming up? Well, for one, I'm going to enjoy a glass of wine. Yes, wine. I won't be having any during the detox so I'm going to get that out of my system now.

While I'm having that wine, I'm going to do some meal planning and making a grocery list. I'm going to plan a few larger slow cooker meals like a pork roast or a pot roast, something I can make ahead and freeze in smaller quantities. These meals will help keep me from straying from the plan when work leaves me too wiped to even think about cooking.

I'm also going to check to be sure I have common ingredients needed for various snacks in the book. The snacks really help with those moments when you just need something.
